Sergey Karev
about the artist
Sergey was born in 1977 in Leningrad. In 2006, he graduated from the Alexander von Stieglitz St. Petersburg State Academy of Art and Design. He currently lives and works in Leipzig, Germany.
In Sergey Karev’s hands, metal is literally reborn into natural, organic forms, which invariably makes one ponder the place that humans occupy in the technology-driven world. Softly transforming into large-scale sculptures, the material nevertheless retains its true power.
