Denis Prasolov

Born in 1973 in Leningrad into a family of architects, Denis attended the School of Sculpture of the St. Petersburg Stieglitz State Academy of Art and Design. He currently lives and works in St. Petersburg.

Denis Prasolov’s creative method is grounded in mythical thinking. Each of his creations has a backstory – not invented, but revived from the past (whether near or far) and embodied in materials and forms. In his sculptures, the inanimate transforms into the animate, while the natural world mutates, acquiring human qualities.
