Konstantin Grachyov
about the artist
Konstantin Grachyov was born in 1978 into the family of a Nizhny Novgorod based artist. Having graduated from the Nizhny Novgorod Art College, he followed in his father’s footsteps by entering the Academy of Arts in St. Petersburg where he studied at the Mural Painting Workshop, class of Andrey Mylnikov. Konstantin presently teaches at the Academy, holding the position of Associate Professor at the Department of Painting and Composition and heading his own workshop.
Grachyov represents the new generation of academic painters. Each time he surprises the audience with new facets of his talent, alternately creating poignant lyrical landscapes, powerful narrative paintings, and still lifes in the 1910s–20s style.
