Evgeniy Zaremba

Evgeniy Zaremba was born in 1968 in Omsk. In 1992, he graduated from the School of Visual and Graphic Arts of the Omsk State Pedagogical University. In 2014, he received the Shuvalov Medal of the Russian Academy of Arts. The artist currently lives and works in St. Petersburg.

Evgeniy Zaremba’s paintings and drawings are not just about sophisticated visual compositions, measured rhythms, and refined colour combinations: the artist demonstrates an exquisite level of symbolic and abstract thinking. Here, harmony is achieved through the desire to blend the poetical nature of symbols with the logic of purely painterly solutions as manifested in the compositional structure and the use of colour. In terms of form, the artist focuses on the fluidity, movement, transient states and fleeting moments of the world he inquires into.
