Evgeniy Savrasov

Evgeniy Savrasov was born in 1940 in the village of Bolshaya Dzhalga, Stavropol Krai. In 1964, he graduated from the Mitrofan Grekov Rostov Art College. Having worked for more than five decades at the Stavropol secondary art school, the artist passed away on 31 August 2017.

Savrasov was a versatile artist who was active across visual media, using a variety of painting and graphic art techniques and materials and creating sculptures and installations. The artist was in constant search of a visual metaphor to adequately embody his life experiences and observations.
