Victor Kupriyanov

Born in 1945 in Luga, Leningrad Oblast, Victor Kupriyanov graduated from the Vasily Surikov Moscow State Academic Art Institute. Since 1980s, he has been exhibiting as part of the Kocheviye (The Nomads) artistic collective. The artist currently lives and works in St. Petersburg.

Victor Kupriyanov is a painter with an analytical mindset and an experienced teacher with a propensity for theorising. Consequently, it is not colour, but structured form and dynamic draughtsmanship allowing for substantial transfiguration that act as the driving forces of his artistic practice.
