Andrey Chezhin was born in Leningrad in 1960. Graduating from the Leningrad Institute of Cinema Engineering in 1982, he simultaneously developed an interest in photography.
1985 — joined The Mirror Photography Club
1987–1996 — member of TAK Group
1993 — member of Photopostscriptum Artist Association
1995 — joined the Union of Fine Art Photographers of Russia
1996 — joined the Free Culture Partnership
1998 — joined the International Federation of Artists (IFA)
1999–2005 — founder and member of the Board of the annual Autumn Photographic Marathon Festival
Director of PHOTOimage Gallery and Drawing Pin Museum, a private contemporary art institution
The artist holds to his credit 90 solo shows and 180 group exhibitions, both in Russia and abroad.
