Ivan Pokidyshev

Ivan Pokidyshev was born in 1993 in St. Petersburg and graduated from the Repin Academy of Arts where he has been teaching since 2018.

Pokidyshev’s creative method employs infrared thermography, a process used for creating images of infrared radiation captured with a thermal camera. Attempting to recreate pre-cultural experience, the artist jettisons symbols in favour of simple and universal signifiers such as light and warmth.
