Ilya Komov
about the artist
Ilya was born in Moscow in 1965 into the family of the renowned sculptor Oleg Komov. He is a graduate of the Vasily Surikov Moscow State Academic Art Institute. In 2012, he was elected Associate Member of the Russian Academy of Arts.
Ilya Komov’s creative universe is a self-contained reality wherein landscape painting converges with soul-enriching experience and artistic instinct. In order to grasp it, one needs to take a step forward, readjust one’s perception – and feel the effect of light, line, rhythm, vision, taking in the artist’s emotional message.
