Born in 1995 in St. Petersburg where he lives and works today, Nikita Kulnev graduated from the School of Graphic Arts of the Ilya Repin Institute for Painting, Sculpture, and Architecture (class of book illustration).
Born into a family of artists, Nikita Kulnev is a perfectionist inspired by the early Renaissance art, Russian icon paintings, Expressionism, and the avant-garde. In addition to paintings and prints, Nikita creates church mosaics. Reinventing the narratives of righteous men and sinners, martyrs and tormentors, he manages to make his art currently relevant in terms of both message and imagery.
