Olga Davydova
Born in Kovrov, Vladimir Oblast, Olga Davydova graduated from the Fyodor Modorov Mstyora Vocational College of Art and Design with a degree in Mstyora Embroidery and Vasily Surikov Moscow State Academic Institute of Art with a degree in Mural Painting. In addition, she completed an internship at the Creative Workshop for Mural Painting of the Russian Academy of Arts in Moscow and a training course at the Free Workshops School of Contemporary Art under the auspices of the Moscow Museum of Modern Art. Olga is a member of the Moscow Artists’ Union.
In Olga Davydova’s paintings, the pure white primer is like a substance remote from human existence, while the paint on top of it is like a mass trying to gain a foothold in this substance, to fit in, to get accustomed to and find harmony with it.
