Victor Zayko

about the artist

Victor Zayko was born in 1944 in Primorsky Krai and graduated from the Repin Institute for Painting, Sculpture and Architecture in Leningrad. The artist passed away on 15 April 2022.

A monumental sculptor and member of the Artists’ Union of Russia, Zayko counted as one of his most notable projects the monument to Nicholas Roerich on the Vasilievsky Island. Among his other sculptural creations scattered around St. Petersburg are the bust of Nicholas II, the sculptural portrait of Anna Akhmatova, and the monument to Sergius of Radonezh.
