Pavel Ignatyev

Sculptor, art restorer, installation and performance artist Pavel Ignatyev was born in Leningrad in 1973 and graduated from the Repin Institute for Painting, Sculpture and Architecture in St. Petersburg, completing his post-graduate studies at the St. Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering.

Ignatyev is equally prodigious when it comes to traditional sculpture and conceptual spatial compositions alike, sometimes ‘playing’ with historic imagery and prevalent attitudes of entire epochs. One of the best examples of the latter strategy is the monument to Domenico Trezzini erected in St. Petersburg.
