Evgeniy Kravtsov

Evgeniy Kravtsov was born in 1965 in the village of Khlopunovo, Altai Krai. In 1989, he graduated from the Novoaltaisk State Art College and, in 1996, from the Ilya Glazunov Russian Academy of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. The artist lives and works between Moscow and Kosteryovo, Vladimir Oblast.

Kravtsov’s works are pensive and meditative. His still lifes, portraits, and paintings of Russian landscapes are strictly monochrome. The artist’s signature technique combines oil painting and sepia drawing on canvas. Visualising silence and melancholy introspection, his archetypal imagery is often perceived by the viewers as depicting their own memories and emotions.
