Ekaterina Pilnikova

Born in 1987 in Chelyabinsk, Ekaterina graduated from the Repin Institute for Painting, Sculpture and Architecture in St. Petersburg where she now teaches.

Ekaterina Pilnikova’s oeuvre seamlessly blends academic devices and modern imagery. The artist creates plaster and ceramic sculptures: the former are usually inspired by classical Greek mythology and tinted with acrylic, while the latter are mostly male portraits glazed with imitation bronze patina.
