Erarta Museum Unveils a Collaboration with Rockabi
The Luxury of Contemplation art collab sees the works from Erarta’s permanent collection reinvented as stylish accessories by the high-end clothing brand Rockabi
The drop features two designer scarves evoking memories of walks around St. Petersburg, with a colour palette blending the cool shine of marble with the warm smoothness of porcelain. Far from a flashy statement, it suggests an exquisite dialogue with the city unfolding in every curve and glimmering in the refined sheen of fabric.
The Moyka River. January, a scarf inspired by Nadezhda Anfalova’s artwork, is akin an urban winter dream rendered in watercolour. As if enveloped in a delicate haze, it conjures up a quiet morning after a snowfall in a city that breathes slowly and calmly. A delicate whisper rather than a shout, this accessory reveals itself to the eye in gradual stages. It is intended for those who value refined elegance and meditative depth and effortlessly adds meaning, character, and a creative edge to the most basic looks.
In Semyon Balabaytsev’s Contemplating the Water, a woman’s profile seems to come through the texture of wood. Resorting to the natural palette, the artist summons a sense of understated inner calm, as if setting the scene for a soft-spoken conversation with his inner self and with nature. This scarf is designed to create a special mood on a day when one feels like looking demure yet beguilingly noticeable and attaches importance to nuances, half-tones, and the private little story behind all that.
Rockabi’s philosophy is rooted in the concepts of slow fashion and caring attitude towards beauty, things, and oneself. ‘We have always believed in clothing as an extension of the inner world. Together with Erarta, we created manifesto accessories that encourage one to slow down and see beauty in every moment,’ comments Rockabi founder Natalia Sukhoterina.
‘When art steps beyond display cases and museum walls, entering our daily life, it fills it with a new meaning. These accessories engage us in a slow-paced dialogue with the city and with our own selves,’ believes the Erarta Museum team.
The designer silk scarves are available starting 13 February exclusively at the Erarta Home Stores on floor 1 of the museum, Rockabi boutique in St. Petersburg, and the brand’s official online store.
