On October 18 Erarta Stage will host a great jazz concert dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the legendary guitarist Alexei Kuznetsov.
The national actor of Russia, an outstanding jazz guitarist, composer, arranger and teacher. Alexei Kuznetsov is fairly considered the master of the Russian jazz. Like most of the most popular jazz musicians, he is not an innovator or a radical experimenter. He is a true keeper of the traditions of jazz guitar, and a great educator who keeps the art of playing the jazz guitar alive. He collaborated with such well-known Russian musicians as Igor Bril, George Garanian, Vladimir Danilin, Alexey Kozlov, Alexander Rostotsky, Daniel Kramer, David Goloschyokin, Leonid Chizhik, Igor Butman, Sergey Manukyan. Among the foreign names there are iconic Duke Ellington, Deyv Brubeck, Gary Burton, Steve Svollou, Pat Mettini, Herb Ellis, Tutts Tiyelemans, Rudolf Dashek, Russell Meloun, Peter Lich, Oliver Gennon and others.
The beautiful and resonant sound of his guitar, his virtuoso technique, his artistry and personal charm won Kuznetsov widespread admiration among domestic and foreign jazz lovers. A living legend of Russian jazz, he has traveled half the world, performing at numerous jazz festivals. Head over heels in love with guitar, Kuznetsov is eager to share his experience with the younger generation. He runs a master class "Jazz Guitar" at Moscow's Accord musical salon.
On October 18 Alexei Kuznetsov will play with the stars of St. Petersburg jazz at Erata Stage.
